Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio

Ownership

Each House is owned and operated by a local not-for-profit organization formed to operate the Ronald McDonald House and other related hospital and patient projects. Members and directors are unpaid volunteers. Many local and national companies including McDonald’s provide support, through volunteerism, material donations, and monetary contributions.

Volunteer Programs

The following examples are just some of the ways our volunteers have found to help us help others.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

Volunteers are always needed. They assist with all aspects of household operations, including office work, maintenance and upkeep, and interaction with the guest.

PREPARE DINNER FOR FAMLIES

Call any House to schedule a time for you or your group to prepare or bring a meal for the families. On weekends, you may want to choose to prepare breakfast or lunch. This is wonderful fellowship for groups and families.

QUILTING BEE

Create quilts for the children from birth to 21 years old.

INVITE A SPEAKER TO YOUR ORGANIZATION

If your club or group would like more information about the House, a staff member will be happy to make a presentation.

Patrols

COOKIE/ PASTRY PATROLS

Bake a batch or two of delicious cookies or your favorite cake or pastries.

CASSEROLE PATROL

Prepare a casserole for four that can be frozen. Families returning from the hospital or late appointments can pop them in the oven or microwave and enjoy a warm meal.

FRUIT/VEGETABLE PATROL

This is great for those of you who have summer gardens. Fresh fruits and vegetables are always enjoyed. Nonperishable items are also needed.
